Daddy Poem by Brooke McMinn

Daddy

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes I think of all you have done.
Tell me, when I was born, why did you run?
Was Coke more important in your world?
More important then your own little girl?
You stuck around for a while,
But Mom says that not even once did you smile.
You didn't want me,
That was clear,
But did you really need to get high,
With me right there?
I was just a baby
I couldn't even crawl
So you left me by myself
I hope you had a ball.
I have a new Daddy now.
One who holds me while I'm crying.
He tells me that he loves me
Without even trying.
But even with all this love
I feel the rage of an inside fire.
You were never meant to be a Dad,
Only a sire.
