Dad Poem by Laura Anne

Dad

Rating: 5.0

It makes me smile to think of the past.
Growing up, we had a blast.
Those spur of the moments trips
And watching old football clips
You taught me how to play ball
You picked me up when I would fall.
After a day at the pool, you’d surprise us with ice cream
You said it appeared like magic; oh how our faces would beam
You were always there to lend an ear
I could always talk to you without fear
You would listen and never judge
And you told me I should never hold a grudge
You said mistakes were mine to make,
You knew I was tough and wouldn’t break
I’m the person I am today because of you.
You taught me to always be true.
I am so proud to have you for my dad
For growing up without you would have been quite sad
I love you Dad.
