Crystal Tears Poem by dino evans

Crystal Tears

I've written many words about the loves that I have known...
The heartache that it's cost me, winds of sorrow that have blown...
Too many times, too many hearts, I didn't even own...
And harvested the crops, of the loneliness I've grown...

It's taken many years to realize what has gone wrong...
To have and hold a heart in mine, to be where I belong...
Too many nights, too many fights, to right the many wrongs...
That's why I sit and listen to the same old sad love songs...

I peer into the mirror now, and all that I can see...
Is no reflection of the man I tried so hard to be....
Eyes stare back through crystal tears, and harsh uncertainty...
The lessons found along the way, do not encourage me...

It's a long road to love.. you see? ...

To think that love may rise again someday, within my heart...
And goodbye not come 'round to tear the happiness apart...
Far beyond my thinking, though it's lovely, painful art...
So I must stroll the gallery of hope, at least in part...

The hope of what could be someday, a hope of love sublime...
To ease my crushing need for love, to calm my troubled mind...
Open up my eyes for me, and know that I'm not blind...
Allow me to believe again, in kindness, and in kind...

I feel that I must give myself the hope to carry on...
Free my heart and soul once more, devoid of loss, and gone...
To search for my desire, before desire is done...
Perhaps someday, and with God's help, I'll find my only one...

It leads me... Farther on...

You could also consider the last line to end like this: Father, dear Father... please lead me farther on...
