Crying World Poem by Stanley Onome Oyibode

Crying World

Rating: 4.0

The world is a mighty prison
Where death is the gate way to freedom.
You cry to announce your arrival
But the world imprisons you.

The world cries for you when the sky rains gold
Hills mourns for destiny is buried
Dreams glide in a crying world
But your teaching grows in our memory
And your philosophy becomes our guardian angel.

When I saw you in the morgue,
I knew death has freed you.
I could not speak I became frozen and startled
My eyes rain ocean.

All I could see
Was your dangling image in my memory.
Then I knew farewell was hard
To say to a beloved one
