Crying Stones Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Crying Stones

Rating: 5.0

Before the time you chose to die
According to Your word
You said ‘the stones may one day cry
Your praises to be heard’

There’s crying Lord, both loud and clear
From all that’s deep within
I’m crying too I’m crying here
For freeing me of sin

With joyful tears I’m crying out
Surging from head to toe
I’ll sing Your praise without a doubt
How long and far I go

My happiness I can’t contain
Through power of Your love
Not since the day You came to reign
From Heaven’s throne above

The world should my fervent cry
Should hear Your servant’s songs
Should hear before more children die
And go where sin belongs

But You are God, Your Word is true
Your wondrous love’s supreme
You’d love us all to eat with You
And drink from Heaven’s stream

But who will heed Your servant’s cry?
Repent and change their tune
Will yet the world seek Truth on high
Before her children’s ruin

So hear o Lord my sweet refrain
With outstretched arm above
Knowing my cries are not in vain
When filled with all my love
