breed desolate destruction:
timid thrush, one wall.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Initially written 23 March 1975 as a couplet entitled The Thrush
The Thrush - 0064 - Initial Version
Desolate destruction, spot fire bombs fall,
A timid thrush now worms beside one wall.

The number in the title refers to the chronological order of the first version unless the poem was omitted from the original list and rediscovered. Revised versions retain the initial number.
