Crossing Paths Poem by Katinka Havermans

Crossing Paths

Sometimes if you meet someone
You feel in an instant if there is a click
So it was with you and me
We had fun, giggling all the time,
Doing things girls our age do
We where in our puberty when we met
But as we grew older
Our paths drifted apart
I went my way, you went yours
Frequently we saw each other
But as time went by
We saw each other fewer
How long has it been
Since we've met the last time
How long has it been
Since we wrote each other a simple postcard
At the time there had to be a reason
Why our paths did cross
We are just lost on one of the paths
Missing each other every time
