Cries Of Our Ancestors Poem by Laurore Jean Pierre

Cries Of Our Ancestors

A fight for respect driven by pride
so many blood have shed, all have
lead to this… a disappointment.
We call each other brothers and sisters
but we act as if were enemies.
We hold each other back with bitter jealousy.
We get caught up into this world and it’s
Standards of greatness,
when really we are decreasing ourselves and
forgetting where we come from and what we
have fought for.
That word that was used in the past to put us
down is being changed and used in different context
block by ignorance of it’s true meaning.
Why not let it stay in the past with it’s hurt?
Take a minute to listen to the cries of our ancestors
And be able to redeem our pride.
