Cri De Coeur Poem by Sonny Rainshine

Cri De Coeur

An Amazonian rainforest.
Sounds of chainsaws
and the grunts of bulldozers.
Mingled with the shrieks
of fleeing parrots and macaws,
and orchid-laden trees toppling:
A still, sad plaint:
“Goodbye.”
