Cri De Coeur
An Amazonian rainforest.
Sounds of chainsaws
and the grunts of bulldozers.
Mingled with the shrieks
of fleeing parrots and macaws,
and orchid-laden trees toppling:
A still, sad plaint:
“Goodbye.”
