Creator Of Destruction Poem by Hayley Lewis

Creator Of Destruction

Lets fast track my emotions
From searing pain to bitter hatred
I will turn your eyes from beacons of love and trust
To the fiery eyes of Satan himself
You tore my heart from my chest
Still beating its love for you
Crushed it in your fist
And threw it to the dogs like rotten flesh
I gave you sanctuary in my soul
And you painted the walls black
And tossed the decorations out the window
Painted the windows black
So I could not see further than you
You left me shaking and alone
Pounding on the walls of my asylum
Begging to see the sunlight again
But you threw the key away too
Turned away from me
Told me you could you not stay here
I am not worth the light to see me by
Not worth the chains to bind me with
So leave
I do not live up to impossible expectations
I am just an emotional black spot
With a welcome mat spread before my body
You came into my universe
And shattered the stars
Ravaged the mountains and polluted the seas
What is left is not beautiful now
A stripped and broken world
With your imprint stamped in the sky
Like a cursed satanic emblem
To scare the birds away
Just one more endangered species
Teetering on the brink of a meltdown
Trees threatening to fall into obscurity
A world blackened and old
Cold and inhospitable
You are the master of destruction
The last name on the list
Last ravager and the last pioneer
Go, I don't want you here
