Crawfish Moment Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

Crawfish Moment

Given to the whims evoking pleasure
Gators snapping paths in danger
Staring pass the trinkets of a treasure

Drunks disgorge a grinning stranger
Pawn shop tickets long expired
Plastic Jesus rocks the manger

Harlots on Bourbon Street wired
Soapbox heaven for the Cajun preacher
Horse patrol police newly fired

Obscure streetcar serenade creatures
Tuesday sow at the market to fatten
Boogie tappers clicking with their teachers

NEW ORLEANS bon vivant in satin
Father gumbo downs oysters and Latin.
