Cracks Poem by Dawngi Chawngthu

Cracks

A little life
Springs from
A crack on the wall
Unbidden
Unnoticed
Ever growing
Lost from watchful eyes
Of predators
And masterful owners
Of the mighty wall
Little sapling
Draw life's blessings
From Mother Nature
And blossom forth
Into a mighty tree
But...
Let not thy growth
Destroy the wall
On which you grow
And mind you, Masters
Mind cracks on walls
Mend cracks on walls
Lest they foster
Plants and saplings
Unnoticed
By your watchful eyes
For Mother Nature
Watches over
This little plant here
Ever becoming stronger
Day by day
