Covalent Poem by Stuart Doggett

Eyes staring into each other,
The orbitals left to play,
Ionic that opposites attract
From so far away.

Touch to touch to touch
To feel you next to me,
It polarises my desires,
I’m drawn to what I see.

I give to you a part of me,
You give to me a part of you,
A shared part of both of us
To hold between us two.

I lay my rings around it,
I never stray from it,
I draw my energy from it
And give you all that I’m worth.
