Courageous Girl (About A Blind Elephant) Poem by Terry Dawson

Courageous Girl (About A Blind Elephant)

Rating: 5.0

Sightless wild giant
Misfortune athwart her
Resilient, defiant,
Helped on by her daughter.

Born to the wilds
The great matriarch sage
Helped, cherished and guided
In benighted old age.

So harken you humans
Whose souls gold has bought
And ponder what lesson
This wild tale has taught.

Beautiful example of the community that can be found in nature- and there is something so dignified about an elephant. I hope mankind has been changing its attitude the last 50 years into one of conservation, stewardship, and respect. Thank you for reminding us of those values!

The poem superbly presents your flawless expression and flow of words lend beauty to these verses and power to the message it carries for the uncaring and indifferent mankind who has caused so much damage to nature. Thanks.
