Could Not Speak Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Could Not Speak

Rating: 5.0

I could not speak
As felt energy less and weak
Something bothered me all the time
I decided to disclose her this time

It was unique relation
Even though it remained in question
She had spoken no word till this date
I was eager to have word of late

It required great courage
To speak of mind and manage
Any time the loud burst can occur
At first you got practice little or murmur

I thought I shall be able to do
Prove capable and pass through
I felt it my swing in favor
But something was at stake like honor

I had read in her eyes
Some hidden urge to try
I banked upon this possibility
And thought this may result in certainty

“Hello” I am here
What are you doing there?
I turned to see her at gate
She was smiling and about to state

How long will you take to invite?
This was enough reason to ignite
I boldly asked for her hand
She came in to shale my hand as friend

I found her totally acceptable
As kind, mild and gentle
Why was I late in asking?
“Fools too may not wait for love to bring ”
