Coughing Poem by Gary Fellows

Coughing

In the dead of night
Coughing
Catch a cold
Catch my breath
Catch my death
Coughing

It's dark outside
Coughing
This dead of night
Reach for the can
Of gas relief
Coughing

Climb those stairs
Coughing
Need my bed
Sanctuary spread
Weak and feeble
Puffing

Inside tucked up
Coughing
See the mirror
A funny sight
Me in stitches
Laughing
