Corruption Poem by nicola burkett

Corruption

Rating: 5.0

The world is full of corruption
Some we see, most we don't
The branches of eyes created to look upon us
Are full of corruption and deceit
An abuse of power has driven them from heroes to villains In one easy swoop
From the desire to help others
Comes a desire to help themselves
While others breathe air and circulate blood
Money, sex, power are their eliqusor to life
An eliqusor which they will finally succumb to
A person can only posses so much deceit and greed
Before it begins to destroy their lives
Their depravity of society and faith is shameful
Their vices they keep under lock and key
For if their corruption was ever exposed
The power they hold would be overthrown
And the branches of trust and goodwill they sit upon
Will be tossed into the bonfire of ignominy

A sad commentary on life........as you see it...as I see it...and....as it....really is!
