Corner Booth Claustrophobia Poem by Aria Siren

Corner Booth Claustrophobia

It's hard to search for some greater purpose
holding the smudged menu
of this forgotten highway diner
but when I glance up at you
my heart sinks
straight to the bottom
of this cloudy water
this static that seems to
hummm
between
your youth and
my need for patience
when your name tastes a lot like tension
I wonder...
If I'm allowed to break this silence
to ask you to unwrap my constallations
to grasp at my galaxies and
breathe
breathe
breathe in
my atmosphere
to set love on fire
so I can burn away the fear
to pour the purple universe
over my empty palms
into a puddle of pretty disorder
and my wandering mind wonders
if you see the stars melting in my eyes
when I place my order.
