Cool Bed Poem by Lily YANG

Cool Bed

Rating: 4.5

Beside the bank of small river,
The village is very cool in summer.
Placed two high benches in wet sand,
Put a bampoo board to make a bed by hand.
On seeing sunset, we climbed up for cooling,
On opening eyes, saw dense stars dazzling.

I always loved winter stars in winter skies, in clear sky Southern Alps mountains, watching stars silent until cold bite chills shaking, I have climbed high into the mountains, found a smoother place to sleep on a riverbed edge, laid down to sleep in a sleeping bag, trying to stay awake for hours, watching stars run in ink black sky just overhead, until sleep claimed night star watching soul, waking late in the hot summer morning, in the stillness alone as summer river streams past whispers :) 10+++ is the golden worth of high mountain memories
