Converts Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Converts

Converts

Mostly the words are insufficient to convey the message holistically, but in occasions

Yet

Convert meant a lot to me today

Ali, a Muslim born refugee of Afghanistan, converted to Islam when jobless and in need

Koran in English
Shed light on his life, with love, hope, openness, and wide scope to see the future for all

Bulgarian Pentecost Yana, of communist-run country, converted when she was eighteen

I
Am lucky to see them and other converts with understand and loving them with equality

Any conversion is good
When leading us to improvement and partnership with others to create a fair sharing life

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Borders and boundaries mean nothing to me and I resist them. That is the great honor that puts me in contact with both sides.
