Confrontation Poem by Hawa Joosub

Confrontation

Heart beating
Sweating palms
Knees shaking
Quaking tums
Look that monster in the eyes
Then
Grab his throat by surprise
And
Let your voice raise
Take a stand
It’s your rights; defend, defend
Fight, fight, right to the end
Puff of smoke
Sizzle
Fizzle
Guess what?
It was your own fear in disguise!
