Concrete Poem by Emma R. Kessler

Concrete

Rating: 3.5

And it only gets harder with every goodbye
God knows with every leaving I've cried
But it's alright
If I'm so lucky, I might see you tonight
In a dream, of a wish, that you were holdin me tight
But darling the high comes with a hell of a fall
Reality like concrete comes with the dawn

And I
I'll tell you I miss you
But that won't suffice
I apologize for when I'll stammer
With words that aren't right
I'm just trying to say
You're the love of my life
But the words just aren't enough
I'll fail every time
