Compensation Poem by Danny The Dreamer Boyd

Compensation

Can't help but leave for you within a place;
It helps me sleep to know you may again:
Be back, to hug away all hurt and pain;
Them thence, perchance, with rapture—Please! —replace.
Can't lie and say I've filled not once this space;
At least I've tried: alas, I've tried in vain!
As strangers' comfort's just a hurricane,
And I myself to moments past did brace.
Can't help but think you're never coming back:
Forlorn to try rekindle old gone flames;
I guess the constant lies get me relieved.
Content I'm not: I've never liked this shack:
It's filled still with so many sullen frames,
And picture shows: which once had me deceived.
