Compassioned Death Poem by James Meaney

Compassioned Death

I was once lost but found by love
my one true love
she found me astray and in pain
a lifeless Tuesday in May
in throbbing ache I was chained
unearthing the key to my heart
this Girl grabbed my affection and reigned
who would have thought this Girl
this same Girl
was not super or infinite but could take a bullet to die
despite that she couldn’t say goodbye.....to me,
I was left with found love in the peace that she died in pure compassion.
