Companionship Poem by Doris Cornago

Companionship

Rating: 5.0

🛸
Not too long ago, lost my universe
Went into the silent darkness
Grieving a dear companion
Found someone waiting
Took me by the hand
Willingly came to
A flat rock
Heart
Smitten
Word-woven
Green landscapes
Violet sun, pink valleys
Where crystal waters run
Rainbow-colored butterflies
Bumbling bees and flowers frolic
Our dark eyes lit in companionship

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Funny how a happenstance can turn grief into romance. There's no disloyalty in this, but a wonder on how the universe can work out ways to help us survive a loss.
