COMPANIONSHIP

Perched admist the flowers and a jug of wine
Restlessly I pair alone, for no one is mine
Up I raise my cup and invite the moon
Dark shadow of mine, I invite it soon
Earnestly I sing and the moon reels
Narcotically dancing, my shadow itself steals
Come let us bind ourselves to the moon's passionless ray
Emotionally swear to meet in the Milky Way.

I love to see the old heath's withered brake
Mingle its crimpled leaves with furze and ling,
While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
