Come Safe Poem by Leah DeCresce

Come Safe

Trace back the years, like faded scars.
Remind me that you were always there.
What I've forgotten can be learned with time.
And time is all we have.

So come home, & come safe.
You're all I've never wanted,
but needed to have to be okay.
So come home, come safely home.
Bring back what my memory's erased.

Remembering a faded smile.
Folded, tucked safely in a silver box.
You're miles away, but you're here tonight.
I'll pour over each picture until you come alive.

So come home, & come safe.
You're all I've never wanted, but needed to have to be okay.
So come home, come safely home.
When that smile hits your eyes, I know you'll stay.

Let it resonate with you, let it cover your every hole.
Let the silence fill this empty room until it becomes your homes.
Let the darkness of tonight be your guiding light,
let it drive you home.

So come home, & come safe.
You're all I've never wanted,
but needed to have to be okay.
So come home, come safely home.
One kiss goodnight, everything is alright.

So come home, & come safe.
You're all I've never wanted,
but need to have to be okay.
So come home, come safely home.
When that smile hits your eyes, I know you'll stay.
