Come Out Clean, Please Tell Me Poem by Hebert Logerie

Come Out Clean, Please Tell Me

Rating: 5.0

Stop being difficult and mean.
Please come out clear and clean,
To tell me how I came to lose
The sparkles of your smile, the dose
Of your kisses and the warmth
Of your soul. Now, I feel dwarf,
Low as the soil, and rejected like trash.
Tell me how I came to lose your love,
Your tender loving care and your sweetness.
Please come out clean: I did not burn the stove,
I did not break the dishes, and I did not create a mess.
I always loved you, still do, and will never stop.
You quit on me for no apparent and credible reasons.
I feel flabbergasted and disgusted like a filthy mop.
With you, I was happy, and blessed to enjoy the four seasons.
Please tell me why you abandoned and deserted me.
Please be clear and precise, because I am now very unhappy.
You broke, hurt, bulldozed and destroyed my heart;
You cannot be away from me. We cannot be apart
From each other. Darling, please come back to me,
With your smile, your kisses, and your blunt honesty.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is dedicated to one of my favorite singers, the one and only, the legendary singer: Mr. Nat King Cole. And also to a very good friend who lost the love of his wife. I cried when he told me what happened.
