Come My Child Poem by Buxton Shippy

Come My Child

He stands on top
of the mountain
and says come my child.
Come and dwell with me.
Let me teach you my ways.
Let me nurture you
like a father.
Be not be afraid,
take one step
and I will guide you
by the way.
Come experience
limitless love,
limitless provisions,
limitless mercy,
even limitless grace.

I know your sins:
confess and turn away
from your ways
and I will forgive you.
I will love you eternally.
Don't be bashful,
don't be ashamed of me.
Serve me and no other.
I can be trusted:
read my words
and look at my records.
I have never failed you yet,
though the adversary
would have you believed
otherwise.
Come my child,
come to Abba.
