Colouring Book Poem by David Harris

Colouring Book

Rating: 5.0

The sun brought out its colouring book
and painted the landscape
as far as the eyes could see.
All the colours of the rainbow
stared out at me.
It came as the sun rose
and faded when it went away.
While it stayed, it warmed the air
spreading its beauty everywhere,
putting smiles on people’s faces,
making little birds sing,
opening bouquets of flowers
who thought it must be spring.
When the sun brought out its colouring book
to dazzle us with its display.
