Cold Honor Poem by Jamie Dewyer

Cold Honor

Rating: 5.0

i

this thief of time
robs blind the weak
his temple speaks
in tounges

the shore receeds
between the reeds
the towers crumble
silent

the honor seeps
beneath the sheets
the scars grow inward
violent

ii

upon waking
the monkey's paw turned
and the lighting bells did not waver
and the old fears did not again surface

he opened
unto them
Hosanna

iii

we come in fear to bow
to cower
to writhe and weep
and steal and sour
to poison
and to bring decay
it is our selfish
empty way
to purge
to burn
to take away
the maim
to ruin
to never pay
