Coffee Inspiration Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Coffee Inspiration

Coffee inspiration

Rendezvous places have become Coffee shops.
For lovers, for loners and friends
Open eyed, inspired, I looked on.

I waited but friend did not come
Frankly I am happy he did not
A bagel with coffee, all small.

Eager to find friend an old man,
Found no eye, no reply.
So he sang, all alone, in Kurdish?

To me he, stories, the TV History
Deciphered the signals; observer.
At the end hegemony, no comment.

Then
I read, but half mind
Shrunk and extended were the lines.

A couple sat to left, after some replacements
A seated, a young man went to the window side
The couple chose, replaced the young man.

Rose, Flo, the two names in Munro’s,
I look at every page, up and down; and around.
Couple go for order, they take turn.

When seated, food ready on table
They held hands, man prayed, eyes closed
At the end her love moved, to her lips…

Heavenly, she kissed him on right hand
I was a clay vase, of Hafez, of Khayyam
I was filled with the wine; from divine.
