Coffee Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Coffee

Waves in the rocks
Eternal dance of equinox cells
Quiet religion of the tall grass
Limbic religion the ghost winds
Carnal sunsets where chickens graze
Horses, goats, birds
Nakedness feeding the dogs
Planting a new apple tree
Windows with a breeze
Wooden floors
Old lamps
Earth is a true footstool
Storms and blue sky
Thy loving kindness is better than life
Rocks like great bones
Tomatoes from the garden
Quilts in the fall
The wind sings like a barn
Grinding your own coffee
How can a poet not drink coffee
