Coffee Poem by Camille Briski

Coffee

I don't drink coffee to
wake from
my sleep.
I'm trying to find something
interesting
which is proving very difficult
blacker and blacker
maybe I should try espresso.

You like it black?
she asked me
Well I did.
i mumbled to myself.
Now I don't like anything at all
as I sauntered away
smirking with a gray grimace.
