Cocoon Poem by Brenda Poole

Cocoon

Oh I do remember when
I lived in my own cocoon,
And what I longed to shine
Through was the light of
The moon.

Why that light lit my
Spirit, and my nights
Were well groomed.

I still felt alone in my
Dark cocoon.
Once or maybe twice
A week, I'd prep myself
Lookin for the sun to peek...

Into my lonely dark cocoon,
Then maybe,
Just maybe...
My lips will keep warm
Like the summer heat,
And I'd wear those arms
Around the curve of my
Shoulders all day long.
