Cobweb Memories Poem by Colin Coplin

Cobweb Memories

Rating: 4.5

There are moments in our life, that shape us and make us who we are
Moments that come back, and replay, year after year
Moments where truth merges with lies
Moments that hurt and moments that surprise
Moments that we all keep behind our eyes

First love comes, and stays a lifetime, special love is first love,
First love comes, always at the right time, special love is first love,

It's been years now, but deep in my mind
Hang cobweb memories, of her face, but no name
What's special about her, that makes me remember
Memories flow like movie scenes, of her and I together

Scenes of us walking, planning dreams and touching
Of breathes exploding into each other's mouths
Of smiles and of laughter, sensual trembling and parked cars
Of school and her father, a time of lost innocence, when nothing but we mattered

First love comes, and stays a lifetime, special love is first love,
First love comes, always at the right time, special love is first love,

First love comes, and stays a lifetime, special love is first love,
First love comes, always at the right time, special love is first love,

It all comes flooding back without distress, or fear, or pain
It seems like only yesterday, that last kiss, without meaning, embrace, or passion

First love comes, and stays a lifetime, special love is first love
First love leaves, is there ever a right time, special love is first love

It's been years now, but deep in my mind
hang cobweb memories of her face, but no name.
