Cloudburst Poem by Hazel Durham

Cloudburst

Rating: 4.9

Memories of you, like opening a window to a view,
Always so new,
Hills, valleys slumbering in the mystique,
Of the midday sun,
Ancient wells, church bells,
Sounds echoing across the lonely fells,
With my endless tears of loss,
Your words flow like the rivers of past times,
Caressing, mystical chimes,
Whispers rebounding, over the wind blown ocean,
Desires floating on a garland of flowers,
In turbulent motion,
Sweet scent, grassy, earth like,
Rising upwards, where birds fly, surmising,
Lingering in the murmur, of my terrible heartache,
You ended our relationship, with accusing words,
On your lips,
A cloudburst of endless reasons,
Even in a sunny season!

It sings of bitter-sweet memories of life. Memories are candles that flicker on the winds of time but never pass away, ....very emotional and romantic, Hazel

I have never been to that country and never stepped foot in that countryside but that has changed now. While reading this lovely, achingly lovely poem, I experienced this place you saw through the window. Hills, valleys slumbering in the mystique, Of the midday sun, Ancient wells, church bells, Sounds echoing across the lonely fells, - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ] I melted into that view slumbering in the mystique- a phrase that rivals any phrase written by any literary giant. Oh, and the repeating rhymes of wells, bells, and lonely fells- writing does not get better than this. The least I can do is give it a 10 on that scale below- -but I wish I could give it a million stars.
