Clive Poem by Francis Duggan

Clive

Let us hear it for old Clive
He is very much alive
He has courage on his side
Two years ago he almost died
But the cancer he did beat
For one of seventy that's some feat
He grimly held on to life
He may even outlive his younger and healthier wife
He has proved that cancer is a killer is a lie
Men like him don't easily die
And though death for him like us all his inevitable fate
The Reaper for him has to wait
And since killer cancer he did survive
Let us drink a toast to Clive.
