Clickity Clacking Poem by Josephine Lauderdale

Clickity Clacking

Everyone is asleep when I am awake
Everyone is at work
When I want to cook
Everyone is having tea
And I am not
Everyone is mowing the lawn
When I am looking for silence
Everyone is talking
When I want to be quiet
Everyone wakes
When I want to sleep
Everyone got the memo
And I did not
Everyone is shopping
When I am clipping coupons
everyone is on rides
while I wait in line
everyone is singing
And I am in the shower
Everyone is driving home
And I am working
everyone is eating
While I am on a diet

Everyone is clickity clacking
While I am
While I am
Still
