Circle Poem by Sarah Elizabeth Clark

Circle

Night envelops,
Falling darkness.
Lamb asleep,
Resting innocent.
Fox stalks,
Nightly plague.
Ewe bleats,
Fearful mother.
Dog barks,
Warning bell.
One shot,
Speeding death.
Life fades,
Falling darkness.
Pups stir,
Resting innocent.
Hunger grows,
Nightly plague.
Provider dead,
Fearful mother.
Gunshot echoes,
Warning bell.
No respite,
Speeding death.
