Chronicles Of Life - Trapped Poem by Steffi Webster

Chronicles Of Life - Trapped

The plain white walls closing in
Suffocating open windows, crawl
And meander through my mind,
Unkind and unrefined.
Trapping tricks tracking traces,
Wordless disgraces burning
My thoughts. Betrayal and lies
To live and let dies of
Numb uncaring, endless
Preparing for mediocrity.
Staring for sanity, random
Profanity rage uncontained
Automatically restrained.
No locks, no bars, no cage.
Just empty rage.

Open door but still a jail.
I fail.

Agony of inactivity, free me
From bitter liberty. Trapped in
Open air. Unaware. But why
Should anybody care?
Don’t pity me but stop and
See, the stagnancy, of false
And fragile liberty.
Set me free.
