Christmas Without You Poem by jess schwarcz

Christmas Without You

Rating: 5.0

Christmas time is here
A time for holiday,
A time for cheer.
I sit back and watch from a far,
Staring from your frozen grave
At the closest satellite star.

First Christmas without you.
First Christmas alone.
An empty, crying heart,
Just doesn’t set the holiday tone.

Dressed in costume and bells,
We’d walk the road Christmas day
Yelling out “Merry Christmas! ”
To those to celebrated it anyway.

Eight great years we had,
And for those I’m gratefully, gratefully glad.
We went through good days and bad days
But in the end,
We still ended up okay.

First Christmas without you.
First Christmas alone.
An empty, crying heart,
Just doesn’t set the holiday tone.

Every night I look out
At the scattered moonlight,
Hopping I’d see your shadow,
Dancing among the stars so bright.

But tonight I’m all alone,
Wishing tonight it could just be us.
And overhead a passing star,
I wish you a Merry Christmas,
...Wherever you are.
