Christmas Night Poem by Smoky Hoss

Christmas Night

Rating: 5.0

the sun of day
slips away,
the moon and stars
venus and mars
come out to play -
this holy night
oh, what a sight,
filled with wonder and awe
and a soulful call
tinted with mystery, and just a hint of fright -
suddenly the sky is torn apart
as a brilliant light breaks the dark,
thousands of angels burst upon the scene
announcing the great birth of a great king
with one saying: do not fear, God is here, take heart! -
gone as quickly as they came
the night returns to the same,
but the world will never be what it was
for dwelling amongst us now is God's Love
once to come, forever to remain -
