Christmas Baby Poem by norman hale

Christmas Baby

Just six months ago
He was sent back to Iraq
She just sits back waiting
For him to come on back

They're both full of courage and respect
And blessed with so much love
And it shows this time of year
Just how it was sent from above

She is big and pregnant
Do to have the baby most anytime
If her man could just be there with her
It would make it such a better time

Now wouldn't you know it
It soon becomes Christmas eve
And that night she goes into labor
She calls for help, then begins to greive

Just a little past midnight
She has a bouncing baby boy
And her first time of holding him
Just fills her heart with joy

Her husband makes it back in town
At just the last minute
And makes it to the hospital
And sees his baby being born in it

They name their baby Jesus
After our saviour born so long ago
Through their love and respect
And they want the world to know

What she didn't know though
An Angel was by her side the whole night
Watching her every move
Making sure everything went alright

They may not know how they've been blessed
To have a baby named Jesus again
Who realy knows, He might be the one
To free this world of its corruption and sin
