Chip Away Poem by Kathryn Dee

Chip Away

Better grab your pick, but not to chip at ice.
Better grab your hammer; you're really not so nice.
**
Chip away my happy days, and my peaceful nights.
Chip away my interests; chip away my rights.

Chip away my friendships; chip away my love.
Chip away all my thoughts, they're never good enough.

Chip away all my hopes; chip away my dreams.
Chip away all my words; quiet all my screams.

Chip away my wants; chip away my wrists.
Chip away my b-l-o-o-d, slipping from these slits.

Chip away my legs; chip away my feet.
Count all your wins, while I c r u m b l e in defeat.

Chip away my hurt; make it all go numb.
Chip away my loneliness; there's never anyone.

Chip away my smiles; chip away my friends.
Chip away my love for life, so I'm eager for the end.

Chip away all my truths, so now I tell all lies.
Chip away all my trust; no one hears my cries.

Chip away til the end, til you like what you see.
Mold me into something you want me to be.

Chip away my spirit; chip away my heart.
Chip away my feelings, as I fall a p a r t.

Chip away my happiness, leave me in the rain.
Chip away my sanity; make me go i.n.s.a.n.e!

Chip away my thoughtfulness; make me act so mean.
Chip away my loyalty; make me act obscene.

Mold me into someone you want me to be.
Chip away til you're happy, til I'm no longer me.
