Chinese New Year (Dragon Dance) Poem by U Win Kyi

Chinese New Year (Dragon Dance)

A marvelous performance
by a troupe of Chinese dragon dance
when watched from a distance.
it looked like so real was no nonsense.
It blew out white smoke.
Its big eyes gave an angry look.
Its serpentine body violently shook.
A crazy chase after a fireball it took.
The sound of beating drum filled the sky.
The firework shot up very high.
The firecrackers busted very wild.
The onlookers hailed in a loud cry.
Finally it caught the fireball in its mouth.
They clapped and praised in a loud shout.
Followed by the beating of cymbal and drum
dong dong chan, dong dong dong chan, dong
dong dong dong chan.
Chinese New Year was full of fun.
