China Love Poem by Lonnie Hicks

China Love

Rating: 2.7

I should be able to do
whatever I want to do
until some one stops me;

I have no internal controls
and need
someone
to place upon
me boundaries
that
do not control me
do not restrain me
but give me
energy.

I cannot be contained
or constrained;
I have to be attracted
to handcuffs.

In life
I must be seduced
to freedom
and rebellion
alike.

So if I
smash against
your tender heart
consider that me flirting,

reminding myself
that tender hearts
which survive
my on-onslaught
and come back for more
I have then
the lover who
can be with me;
who
breaks china
in Love's China Shop;
whose Love is strong enough
to repair China dishes
and is
willing
to clean up-
is the love I need
given who I am.

Too much to ask for?
Well, its my all
that I want to give.
