China(A Good Samaritan Spirit Is Lost) Poem by U Win Kyi

China(A Good Samaritan Spirit Is Lost)

A 2-year-old Chinese girl
knocked down and run over by a vehicle.
In a pool of blood she did lie
but ignored by 18 passerbys.
Nobody was going to help
as she was collapsed and near-death.
Then an old garbage collector came to her aid.
'help, help, help ' a call that she made.
The little girl was sent to a hospital
and was treated in intensive care.
The injury was so severe
that she died in a few days later.
Why is a Good Samaritan spirit lost in modern China
which is proud of richness with billions of dollar?
Do the 5000-year-old civilisation now decay
by the materialistic mentality prevailed nowaday?
The great educator Confucius would cry
if he knew in such a way the girl died.
The garbage collector had a heart of gold
because she behaved like a Good Samaritan as Jesus told
in the Bible 2000 years ago.
