Children Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Children

Fragile souls
In this harsh world
No where to go
No one to trust

Little spirits
Trying to go on
Find their way
In this crazy place

Tiny hearts
Beat constantly
Shatter endlessly
Lost to heaven

Miniature bones
Snap and break
Anger hits
Lost to nothingness

Sad eyes
Fall upon you
Ask for your help
Plead for your love

Grubby hands
Reach for yours
Grab a hold
Don't let go

Eyes close
They are scared
In our world
Is much to fear

Hold them close
Protect them from harm
Never let them injure
Never let them away

Keep your eyes on them
Let them know your there
Keep them safe and warm
Never let them face harm

Our little children
So young and naive
They need to learn slowly
About this cruel place

Show them love and care
Take the time to give affection
Never neglect them and always
Treasure what you have

What a lovely poem you have constructed and all for the love of a child. Somewhere you have been set on the right path; there is truth and discovery ahead for you. Read mine - I Worry Too - Adeline
