Childhood Days Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

Childhood Days

Those were the days of delight
The days in paradise
When we wandered in tribes
With wonder in our eyes.

Companions we had many
No real selfishness any;
Frolicking in the monsoon rains
We were joy unrestrained.

Beautiful flowers we plucked
Chased butterflies that nectar sucked,
We ran through paddy fields
Like gentle flowing breeze.

We saw the sun rise- And
Lower colourfully in the west;
A day that followed rest
Has now forever set!

Lovely rhythm and rhyme. A great poem on childhood, considering the fact that yesterday was the international Children's Day. A great tribute to all children.

Beautiful childhood memories and its very true they are the innocent days of ones life, away from selfishness... Like butterflies one keeps flying through paddy fields...Loved the imagery....Simple yet Beautiful poem. Loved reading it.
